The SDI Elite Raptor Leveling Bucket replaces the OEM strut mount — prone to premature failure on the Gen 2 & Gen 3 Ford F-150 Raptor — with a billet-machined, hard-anodized unit that delivers a clean 1.75" of front lift. One kit covers both generations, ships with all hardware, and is sold in pairs so your truck sits level right out of the box.

Not compatible with aftermarket long-travel strut assemblies or coilovers that replace the OEM strut body.

Installation Overview

Professional installation by a suspension-qualified shop is recommended. Estimated shop time: 1-2 hours per side (front only). A wheel alignment is required after install.

  • Safely lift and support the front of the truck; remove front wheels
  • Disconnect sway bar end links, tie rods, live valve sensor (if equipped), and brake line brackets from the knuckle
  • Loosen upper strut tower nuts (do not remove strut assembly yet)
  • Remove lower shock bolt
  • Remove shock from truck
  • Use a spring compressor to relieve spring tension; remove OEM top hat/strut mount
  • Install SDI Elite Top Hat assembly — torque to SDI spec (see included instruction sheet)
  • Reinstall strut assembly; torque all fasteners to OEM specification
  • Reinstall wheels; lower truck and bounce suspension to settle
  • Schedule an alignment immediately after installation

⚠ Note: A spring compressor is required. This install involves working with compressed springs — improper procedure can cause serious injury. Always follow SDI's included instruction sheet and OEM torque specs.

  • Manufacturer Warranty: SDI covers this product against defects in materials and workmanship. Warranty claims are handled directly through SDI.
  • Coverage: Defective units will be repaired or replaced at SDI's discretion.
  • Exclusions: Warranty does not cover damage from improper installation, misuse, off-road abuse beyond intended use, or corrosion from lack of maintenance.

One of the benefits to using sdi top hat was to eliminate the weak top hat from Ford. Well they noticed it was a weak point and replaced it with a cast aluminum part instead of a pressed sheet metal. I’m still glad I went with the sdi part, but just for a heads up to anyone worried about that weak point. It shouldn’t be a worry for people using springs.
