Good design but I think the anchor points should be staggered one to the back and two the front. Doesn't quite fit flush to the front of the console so things will fall down in the gap. Will probably add a press on strip to seal it up. Console storage tray doesn't clear the lock mechanism so you have to pull the tray out to access under it. I thought it would be a good design to make the safe shorter to be able to slide the tray and conceal the safe some from prying eyes.
The safe seems to be very solid and well made, and fits like a glove. I really like that it only takes up half the console and leaves room for the factory tray as well. It is a steel box that screws down to the bottom of the console with three self -tapping screws - not just a vault “lid”.
Delivery was faster than expected. Install and setting the combo was a breeze. Sitting in driver seat it is easy to open and use. Like this set up better than just the metal lid in the console. Glad I went with this safe.
Ordered the E&G Console safe for a 2023 Ford Superduty Tremor. The safe arrived very well packaged and the install was simple. The fit was perfect with no noticeable gaps which made it look like it was factory. Best of all, I still have use of half my center console and change tray. Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you Appollo Off-Road!
I really like that it is a 6 sided box instead of just a lid. I do wish that the screws would hit metal instead of just the plastic. You couldn't get it out easy and it is more secure than just a lid for sure. I may probe and see if there is metal to attach to under the console with a longer screw at some point for peace of mind. Over all probably the best solution for me out there.
