There are three levels of Gen 3 rear suspension and they are separated by what you are willing to change about the truck.

15 inches — billet links, factory shock

Bolt-on. Billet trailing arms and a panhard bar replace the stamped factory parts and their rubber bushings. No cutting, no welding, no new shocks. The axle gets located properly and the truck stops feeling like it steers from the back. This is the right answer for most trucks.

17 inches — through-the-bed bed cage kit

The shock mounts directly rather than through a linkage, so it takes a larger shock, is easier to tune and easier to service. The trade is that the shocks come up through the bed floor.

19 inches — this kit, cantilever

The most travel of the three, and the only one that gets there with everything still under the bed. Stock fuel tank, stock spare tire location, bed floor intact. The cantilever converts a short shock stroke into a long wheel stroke, which is what buys the extra travel without putting hardware where your cargo goes.

It is also the biggest job of the three — welding is required at the rear axle. If you want the travel and you want to keep the truck usable, this is the kit.

A conventional rear shock sits between the axle and the frame, so the shock has to be about as long as the travel you want. Nineteen inches of wheel travel that way means a shock so long it has to come up through the bed.

A cantilever puts a bellcrank between the axle and the shock. The axle pushes one arm of the crank, the crank pivots, and the other arm compresses a much shorter shock lying where there is room for it — under the bed, out of the way. The motion ratio does the work: a long wheel stroke, a short shock stroke.

The second thing it buys you is a rising rate. Because the geometry changes through the stroke, the suspension gets progressively firmer the deeper it goes, so it stays soft and compliant over small stuff and still has something left at the bottom for a big landing.

The kit uses a standard 2.5" coil over in the cantilever, not a proprietary unit, so shock selection, revalving and service all stay in the normal world.

• 2 lower adjustable fabricated trailing arms — 1.5" uniballs at the front, 1.25" rod ends at the axle, with urethane wobble stoppers
• 2 upper adjustable fabricated trailing arms — 1" uniballs at the front, 1" rod ends at the axle
• 1 fabricated adjustable panhard bar in long travel length — 1" uniball at the frame, 1" rod end at the axle
• 1 fabricated panhard bar mount set up for the long travel geometry
• 2 cantilever assemblies
• 2 rear shock mount boxes
• 2 fabricated frame mount plate kits for the upper and lower arms
• 1 rear axle plate kit — every mount that welds to the rear axle
• 1 hardware and spacer kit for the install

That is the kit itself, and it is the same in every configuration. Shocks and the bump stop kit are what the options on this page change.

Nothing here is a one-time decision. The kit takes a standard 2.5" coil over, so you can start with No Shocks or a single coil over and add the bypass later without touching the suspension.

The cantilever shock

A 2.5" coil over with adjustable ride height, so you set the rear of the truck exactly where you want it.

The second rear shock — three ways

• Keep the factory live valve shock. The electronic control system stays intact and the truck stays happy. The cheapest way in.
• Upgrade to the Fox live valve shock for more capability while keeping the electronics.
• Go to a 3" external bypass for the most control and the most adjustability.

Going further with the electronics

Keep the live valve shock and add the SDI electronic control system for a fully configurable digital setup you can change on the fly.

Not sure which way to go? Call us before you order — this is the decision worth getting right, and it depends on what the truck actually does.

This is the part that separates it from other long travel rear ends.

• The factory fuel tank stays. No fuel cell, no range compromise, no extra certification headaches.
• The factory spare tire location stays. You keep a spare where Ford put it.
• The bed floor stays. All the hardware lives under the bed, so the bed is still a bed.
• The truck still looks close to stock. Nothing announces itself until the suspension is working.

If you would rather have the shocks up through the bed and mounted directly, that is the through-the-bed bed cage route at 17" — easier to tune and easier to service, at the cost of the bed floor.

Fits the Gen 3 and Gen 3.5 Ford F-150 Raptor, model years 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026, including the Raptor R.

The Raptor R shares the rear suspension architecture of the V6 truck, so the kit fits it unchanged.

Running a 2017–2020 Gen 2 Raptor? The Gen 2 has a leaf-sprung rear, so it takes the Gen 2 to Gen 3 long travel rear conversion instead.

This is a fabrication job, not a bolt-on. The rear axle plate kit welds to the axle housing, and the frame mount plates locate the new arm and cantilever mounting points. We would rather say that plainly than have a kit arrive at a driveway.

It is well within reach of a competent fabrication shop, and everything is CNC-cut to locate itself. We also build these in-house in Mesa, Arizona — bring us the truck and it goes out finished and set up.

How much rear wheel travel does this give?

Roughly 19 inches of working rear wheel travel. That is the most of any Gen 3 Raptor rear setup we build — billet links on the factory shock give 15 inches, and the through-the-bed bed cage kit gives 17.

Do I choose my shocks when I order?

Yes. Shock Option and Bump Stop Kit are both chosen on this page before you add to cart. You can take the kit with no shocks at all, a Fox or ADS 2.5" coil over, or the Fox coil over with a 3" bypass, and add the FMI bump stop kit to the same order.

Do I lose my bed space?

No. Every part of this kit lives under the bed. The bed floor, the factory fuel tank and the factory spare tire location all stay exactly where they are.

Does it fit a 2025 or 2026 Raptor?

Yes. It fits 2021 through 2026 Gen 3 and Gen 3.5 trucks, Raptor R included.

Can I keep the factory live valve shock?

Yes. The second rear shock position will take the factory live valve shock, so the electronic control system stays fully functional. You can upgrade to the Fox live valve shock or a 3" external bypass later without changing the suspension.

What is a cantilever rear suspension?

A linkage that sits between the axle and the shock. The axle moves a bellcrank, and the bellcrank compresses a shorter shock mounted where there is room for it. It converts a long wheel stroke into a short shock stroke, which is how you get 19 inches of travel without a shock coming through the bed floor.

Does it require welding?

Yes. The rear axle plate kit welds to the axle housing. This is a fabrication-shop job, or bring the truck to us in Mesa.

What shocks does the cantilever use?

A standard off-the-shelf 2.5" coil over with adjustable ride height — nothing proprietary, so tuning, revalving and service all stay straightforward.

Do I still need bump stops?

Yes, and more than ever. The more travel the suspension has, the more energy is in it by the time it reaches the end of the stroke. You can add our rear bump stop kit to this order, and it works with a stock truck too.

Where is it made?

Designed, fabricated and finished in-house at our facility in Mesa, Arizona, USA.
