Suspension travel has two ends. Most people only think about one of them.

Full compression — the bump stop's job

The axle comes up, and a bump stop kit catches it progressively so the last inch is a squeeze rather than a hit.

Full droop — the limit strap's job

The axle drops away, and without a strap the shock shaft runs to the end of its stroke and stops the suspension by itself. Every time that happens the entire falling weight of the axle assembly arrives at the shock mount and the shock's internal stop. That is what tears shock mounts and kills shocks early.

A limit strap arrives first. It is a fixed length, so the axle simply cannot travel past the point you set, and the load goes into a strap and two welded plates instead of into a shock.

The second benefit

Controlling droop also controls the geometry at full extension. The links, the panhard bar and the driveshaft all stay inside their working range instead of being asked to reach further than they were designed to.

• 2 limit straps, 18" — four layers of military-grade webbing, built so they do not stretch out the way a cheap strap does
• Steel mounting tabs, black plated for corrosion resistance
• Upper weld plates for the frame, CNC-cut from 3/16" mild steel
• Lower weld plates, left and right for the rear axle housing, so each strap gets its own reinforced mounting point
• ½" bolts to secure the straps to the tabs

Upper mounts

The upper strap plates weld directly to the side of the frame, positioned just off the corner of the rear crossmember. They are spaced off each face of the frame rail so the attachment point is secure and balanced rather than hanging off one edge.

Lower mounts

The lower strap plates weld onto the inside pivot plate of the rear axle housing. Left and right plates are both included, so each strap has its own dedicated, reinforced location.

Why it is laid out this way

With a dedicated plate at each corner the straps pull straight and evenly under load, instead of twisting or pulling off-axis. That is what keeps a strap doing its job for years rather than fraying at an angle.

Fits the Gen 3 and Gen 3.5 Ford F-150 Raptor, model years 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026, including the Raptor R.

Designed around the factory five link rear suspension and the factory rear axle housing. It works on a stock truck and on a truck already running billet links, and it is worth having on any Raptor that leaves the pavement.

Welding is required at both the upper and lower mounts. If you are not set up to weld, this is a job for a fabrication shop — or bring the truck to us in Mesa, Arizona and we will do it in-house.

The plates are CNC-cut to locate themselves, so the work is straightforward for anyone who welds, but it is not a driveway bolt-on and we would rather say so before you buy.

Does this fit a 2025 or 2026 Raptor?

Yes. It fits 2021 through 2026 Gen 3 and Gen 3.5 trucks, Raptor R included.

Do I have to weld it on?

Yes. Both the upper frame plates and the lower axle plates are weld-on. That is a deliberate choice — a limit strap mount sees the full load of a falling axle, and a bolt-on version loosens and shifts over time.

What is a limit strap actually protecting?

Mainly the shocks and shock mounts. Without a strap the shock becomes the part that stops the suspension at full droop, and it was never designed to be. It also keeps the links, panhard bar and driveshaft inside their working range at full extension.

How long are the straps?

18 inches, built from four layers of military-grade webbing so they hold their length instead of stretching out.

Do I need bump stops as well?

They handle the opposite end of the stroke. The rear bump stop kit controls full compression; this kit controls full droop. A truck that gets driven hard wants both, and together they are the cheapest real gain on a Gen 3 rear end.

Will it work with the long travel rear kit?

Ask us before ordering if you are running the long travel rear kit — strap length has to suit the travel you actually have, and 19 inches of wheel travel is a different number from stock.

Where is it made?

Cut, plated and assembled in-house at our facility in Mesa, Arizona, USA.

Limit straps and bump stops are the cheapest real gain on a Gen 3 rear end. After that:

• Rear bump stop kit — the other end of the stroke
• Billet rear trailing arms and panhard bar — 15" of rear wheel travel with the factory shock
• Rear link frame mount gusset kit — the factory link mounts are the known crack point on a truck that gets landed
• Long travel rear kit — 19" of rear wheel travel
