Description
A weld-in corner gusset kit for the front spring tower on the 2017–2020 Gen 2 Ford F-150 Raptor. One right and one left gusset, made from 3/16" thick steel.
The Gen 2 Raptor frame has a small flaw that shows up under aggressive off-road use: the spring tower starts to crack near its lowest attachment point to the frame. Left alone, that crack grows and will eventually cause serious damage. This kit adds support where the factory left no weld.
What Is In The Kit
- 1 right weld-in gusset
- 1 left weld-in gusset
Why The Spring Tower Cracks
The spring tower carries the front coil-over load into the frame. Every hard hit pushes that load through the tower's mounting points, and on the Gen 2 the lowest attachment point is where the stress concentrates. With repeated aggressive use, that section starts to crack.
The inside edge of the spring tower mount has no welding from the factory. This gusset is welded into that inside edge, tying the tower to the frame where it needs support for long-term strength and reliability.
How It Is Built
