This kit has a mount at each end of the strap, and they install differently. Both facts are true, and the second one is the one people miss:

• Lower mount — bolts on. It attaches to the factory cast aluminum lower control arm using the included hardware. Nothing is cut, drilled or welded on the arm.
• Upper mount — must be welded to the frame. There is no bolt-on option for the frame end.

Because of the upper mount, this is not a driveway install. The welding should be done by a qualified welder or fabricator. Budget for that alongside the kit rather than discovering it once the parts arrive.

2027 Ram 1500 TRX running the factory stock lower control arms.

Already on the Foutz fabricated lower control arms? Those carry their own integrated bump pad, so the matching part is the 2027 front bump stop mount kit instead.

The 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 TRX is a different generation and uses its own version. Ram did not build a TRX for 2025 or 2026, so a part listed for 2021-2024 does not carry forward.

Does this kit require welding?

Yes, at one end. The lower mount bolts to the factory cast aluminum lower control arm, but the upper mount has to be welded to the frame. Plan on a qualified welder or fabricator doing that part.

What does a limit strap actually do?

It catches the suspension at full droop so the shock does not have to. Without one, the shock and its top mount absorb every top-out hit, which is how front shock mounts get damaged.

Do I need this if I run aftermarket springs?

Yes. Springs change ride height and how far the suspension extends, which makes top-out control more important, not less.

Which bump stop brand should I pick?

FOX, King, ADS and Carbon all fit the 2.5" OD, 2.5" travel spec the kit is built around. Pick the brand that matches the rest of your shock package.

Can I add the bump stop later?

The bracket has the bump stop pad built into it, so the mount is already there whenever you want to add one.

Does it fit the Foutz fabricated lower arms?

No, this kit is for the factory cast aluminum lower arm. See the Fitment section for the fabricated-arm version.
