Foutz Motorsports Adjustable Panhard Bar Kit - Johnny Joint type 2027 Ram 1500 TRX

The panhard bar runs at an angle from the frame on one side to the axle on the other. Lift the truck and that angle changes, which pulls the axle across — you see it as the rear tires sitting off-center in the wheel wells, and you feel it as a truck that does not track straight.

An adjustable bar lets you lengthen or shorten it until the axle is centered again. If you have added a rear spring spacer lift or changed springs, this is the part that finishes the job.

Both bars do the same job on the same 1.5" chromoly tube, and both bolt straight on. The difference is the joints, and it is a real trade-off:

• Johnny Joint (this page) — a forged 1" Johnny Joint rod end threaded into the adjustable end, and a weld-on Johnny Joint at the fixed end. The joint carries a urethane liner, which keeps vibration and noise down, and it is serviceable when it wears. This is the choice for a truck you drive on the road as well as off it.
• Heim joint version — FK 1" rod end and FK 1" uniball with 17-4 stainless spacers. No urethane, so nothing muffles the noise, but nothing deflects either. The choice when you want the most precise axle location and will accept more noise for it.

• (1) Fabricated panhard bar — 1.5" diameter chromoly tube, MIG welded, texture black powder coat
• (1) Johnny Joint 1" ball and 1" thread — the threaded, adjustable end
• (1) 1" jam nut
• (1) Johnny Joint 1" weld on assembly — the fixed end, welded into the bar at our shop

The two ends are different by design: one threads in so you can set the length, the other is a weld-on joint that locates the bar. Both arrive finished — nothing in the kit needs to be welded, cut or fabricated at install.

The 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 TRX is a different generation and uses its own panhard bar. Ram did not build a TRX for 2025 or 2026, so a part listed for 2021-2024 does not carry forward to the 2027 truck.

Is a panhard bar the same as a track bar?

Do I need this if I have not lifted the truck?

At stock ride height the factory bar centers the axle correctly. The adjustable bar earns its place once you change ride height — springs, spacers or a full lift.

What does "weld on assembly" mean in the kit list?

It is the joint type at the fixed end of the bar. One end takes a threaded Johnny Joint so the bar adjusts for length; the other takes a weld-on Johnny Joint, which we weld into the bar before it ships. You do not weld anything.

Why pick the Johnny Joint over the heim?

The urethane liner keeps vibration and noise out of the cab. On a truck that still does daily miles, that matters more than the last fraction of precision.

Is the joint serviceable?

Yes. The Johnny Joint can be rebuilt rather than replaced when it wears.

How do I set the length?

With the truck at its finished ride height, on the ground and settled rather than hanging on a lift. Measure from a fixed point on the frame to the same point on each side of the axle, adjust, then tighten the jam nut against the rod end.
