Description
A bolt-on rear lower arm frame guard with an HDPE slide for the 2024 and newer Ford Ranger Raptor, sold as a driver and passenger side pair. It protects the frame and the rear lower link mount, and helps the truck slide over obstacles instead of hanging up on them.
The rear lower link mount sits on the frame where it can catch on rocks and other obstacles. This guard improves the approach angle to the mount, and the HDPE slide on its bottom angle cuts the drag when it does make contact.
What Is In The Kit
- 1 driver side guard
- 1 passenger side guard
- 1 hardware mounting kit
Why Guard The Lower Link Mount
Where the rear lower link meets the frame, the mount is exposed to rocks as the truck crawls over them. A hit there can damage the mount or the frame, and a squared-off edge tends to catch rather than slide.
The guard changes the approach angle to the mount, so the truck is less likely to get hung up on rocks and other obstacles. The HDPE slide then lets it glide over the rock rather than grinding steel against it.
How It Is Built
The guard
Made from 3/16" thick steel plate and MIG welded for strength. It bolts to the existing lower link mount on the frame.
The HDPE slide
A high density polyethylene slide covers the bottom angle of the guard. The slippery plastic is designed to slide over rock more easily, reducing the drag you would get from the steel guard contacting the rock directly.
Fitment
Fits the Ford Ranger Raptor, 2024 and newer.
Installation
Bolt-on. The guard mounts to the existing rear lower link mount on the frame with the included hardware. No modifications or drilling needed.
Questions
Which truck does this fit?
The Ford Ranger Raptor, 2024 and newer.
Is it a pair?
Yes. The kit includes a driver side and a passenger side guard plus mounting hardware.
Do I have to drill anything?
No. It bolts to the existing lower link mount with no modifications or drilling.
What is HDPE?
High density polyethylene. It is a slippery plastic, used here on the bottom angle of the guard so it slides over rock with less drag than bare steel.
