Description
Fabricated front lower control arms for the 2024-and-newer Ford Ranger Raptor, built from 4130 at stock width. They run FK uniballs, 1.5" at the spindle and 1" at the frame, and work with the factory spindle and either the stock coil-over or a stock-replacement coil-over.
The lower arm carries most of the load in the front suspension. This arm gives it solid uniball pivots, built-in bypass shock mounts and steering stops matched to the spindle, so the front end holds up to hard off-road use and the steering rack is protected at full lock.
What Is In The Kit
- 1 right side fabricated lower arm with installed FK uniballs
- 1 left side fabricated lower arm with installed FK uniballs
- 1 kit of 17-4 stainless spacers for the uniballs at the wheel and the frame
- 2 12-point 5/8" bolts for the lower uniball at the spindle
The factory lower arm mounting bolts at the frame are reused. See Installation below.
Why A Fabricated Lower Arm
The front lower control arm carries the weight of the truck through the spring and shock, and it takes the full force of every landing, rut and rock strike. It is also the arm that sets where the wheel sits as the suspension cycles.
A fabricated arm with uniball joints gives the suspension a defined, solid pivot at each end, so the wheel follows the path the geometry intends under load. Building the arm from scratch also lets us add features the factory arm does not have: a bypass shock mount, mounting tabs for our sway bar kit and steering stops matched to the spindle.
The steering stops matter more than they look. Without a correct stop at full lock, the steering rack ends up acting as the stop, and that is hard on the rack. Building correct stops into the arm keeps that load off it.
How It Is Built
- 4130 construction, MIG welded and fixture built for consistent fit and quality
- FK uniballs: a 1.5" uniball at the spindle connection and 1" uniballs at the frame side
- 17-4 stainless mounting spacers, machined for long life
- Billet machined steering stops welded into the core of the arm, with geometry matched to the spindle
- Bypass shock mounts built in as standard
- Mounting tabs for the FMI Ranger Raptor sway bar kit, also standard
- Hammer black powder coat finish for long-term durability
Shocks And Spindles
These arms are designed to work with the factory coil-over shock, or with any of the aftermarket stock-replacement coil-over shocks, so you can keep your current shock or change it later.
They also work with the factory spindle / upright. The 1.5" uniball at the spindle connection is fastened with the 12-point 5/8" bolts in the kit.
Sway Bar
These lower arms will not work with the factory sway bar. They work only with the FMI sway bar kit for the Ranger Raptor, which bolts to the mounting tabs built into the arms.
The FMI sway bar kit uses custom bent sway bar arms and a choice of a 1" or 1.25" diameter bar, so you can tune how the front end feels. It can be added at any time.
Fitment
Fits the Ford Ranger Raptor, 2024 and newer. Stock width. Requires the FMI Ranger Raptor sway bar kit in place of the factory sway bar.
Installation
Reuse the factory lower arm mounting bolts at the frame. If your truck also has frame support plate kits added at the lower arm mounts, you can use upgraded bolts instead.
Questions
Can I keep my factory sway bar?
No. These arms work only with the FMI Ranger Raptor sway bar kit.
Do the arms have a bypass shock mount?
Yes. Bypass shock mounts are built into the arms as standard.
Are frame bolts included?
No. You reuse the factory lower arm bolts at the frame, or use upgraded bolts if you run frame support plates at those mounts.
