Description
The ALCON front big brake kit for the 2021+ Ram TRX: a 6-piston ductile iron caliper over a 376 x 42 mm rotor, designed to fit the OEM 18" wheel. It works with the stock OEM brake actuation and is built for on and off-road use.
A heavy truck driven hard heats its brakes quickly, and heat is what brings on fade. Larger rotors and more pad area give the front brakes more thermal capacity and more brake torque than the stock system.
Why Upgrade The Front Brakes
Gains over the stock braking system:
- An increase in available thermal mass
- Up to 8% reduction in pad work rate
- Up to 7% increase in available brake torque
Larger rotors increase brake torque and thermal capacity, reducing the potential for brake fade. Increased pad area reduces temperatures and increases pad life, and high friction pads increase stopping power.
How It Is Built
- Ductile iron caliper housing for strength and stiffness, with high resistance to impact and fatigue
- Epoxy acrylic paint over an acid zinc finish for corrosion protection
- High temperature seal material, as used in the highest levels of motorsport
- Wiper seal on every piston to keep dirt out
