Description
A front limit strap and bump stop kit for the 2021-and-newer Ford Bronco, built to work with the factory lower control arm. Two 9" limit straps stop the front suspension at full droop, and a frame-mounted bump stop can catches it at full compression.
Without a limit strap, the shock is the only thing stopping the wheel when it drops away, so the shock and its top mount take every top-out. This kit puts a defined stop at both ends of the front travel, which takes that load off the shock and helps your front suspension parts last longer.
What Is In The Kit
- 2 limit straps, 9" length
- 2 bump stop can mounts
- 2 lower arm mounting brackets, each with a built-in bump pad
- 12 3/8-16 x 1" yellow hex head bolts
- 12 3/8-16 Nyloc lock nuts
- 24 3/8" flat washers
- 4 1/2-20 x 1-1/4" yellow hex head bolts
- 4 1/2-20 all-metal lock nuts
- 8 1/2" flat washers
The bump stops themselves are chosen when you order. Selecting FOX, ADS or Carbon includes that hydraulic bump stop with the kit. See Bump Stop Options below.
Why Limit Straps And Bump Stops
Every time a front tire drops off a ledge or the truck gets airborne, the suspension extends until something stops it. On a stock setup that something is the shock reaching the end of its stroke. The shock was built to damp motion, not to act as the hard stop, and every top-out is passed straight into the shock and its upper mount.
A limit strap takes that job. It is set to stop the arm just before the shock tops out, so the strap absorbs the load and the shock and top mount are spared from premature damage.
The bump stop does the same at the other end of the travel. When the suspension is fully compressed on a hard landing or a big hit, the bump stop makes contact with the pad on the lower arm bracket and gives full bottom-out protection, instead of the hit finishing on harder parts of the suspension.
If you take your Bronco off-road with any speed, controlling both ends of the travel is one of the most useful things you can add to the front suspension.
How It Is Built
Limit straps
Each 9" strap is made from four layers of military-grade webbing, with black-plated steel mounting tabs at each end. The straps are built to take repeated off-road abuse.
Lower arm brackets with built-in bump pad
The mounting brackets secure around the front of the factory lower control arm and carry the lower end of the limit strap. A bump stop pad is built into each bracket, so the bump stop has its contact point on the arm with no separate pad to add. The brackets are MIG welded in-house and finished in hammer black powder coat.
Bump Stop Options
Choose the bump stop brand for your kit before adding it to your cart: FOX, ADS or Carbon.
Fitment
Fits the 2021 and newer Ford Bronco with the factory lower control arm. The brackets are designed around the stock arm, so this kit is not for trucks running aftermarket lower arms.
If you are unsure whether your Bronco's front end matches, contact us before ordering and we will confirm fitment.
Installation
The lower arm brackets bolt to the factory cast aluminum lower control arm with the hardware in the kit. The bump stop mount must be welded to the frame, so this kit should be installed by a qualified welder or fabricator.
