Description
A rear differential skid plate built specifically for the 2021–2024 Ram TRX. It covers and supports the lower back plate of the rear differential cover, so rocks cannot catch the edge and pull the gasket seal loose.
A leaking rear diff cover seal has been a long-running problem for off-road trucks. The bottom edge of the cover sits low on the axle, right where rocks drag past, and one good hit can peel the seal. This race-inspired plate puts a skid between that edge and the terrain.
Why Protect The Diff Cover
The rear differential cover is sealed to the axle housing by a gasket around its edge. The cover itself can take a scrape, but when a rock catches the lower lip it levers the cover away from the housing and the seal lets go. Once that happens the axle starts losing gear oil.
This skid plate wraps the bottom of the cover and supports the lower back plate. A rock that would have hooked the edge of the cover now slides along the skid instead, and the seal stays where it belongs.
Fitment
Fits the Ram TRX, model years 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. It was built specifically for the TRX rear axle.
The skid is made to fit the factory differential cover. It will not work with aftermarket diff covers other than those FMI specifies, so contact us before ordering if your truck has an aftermarket cover.
