The rear differential is the lowest point under most trucks, and the bottom of the cover is the first thing to drag over a rock or ledge. A dented cover or a damaged seal means a leaking axle, and a leaking axle on the trail is a problem that only gets worse.

This skid supports and covers the lower section of the differential, so impacts land on 3/16" steel instead of on the cover seal.

2017 and newer Ford Super Duty trucks with the Dana M275 / M300 rear axle housing (14 bolt cover) only.

Not sure which rear axle you have? Count the bolts in your rear differential cover before ordering. The Dana M275 / M300 cover has 14 bolts. The Sterling 10.25 / 10.50 has 12, and the Sterling 11.6 has 16.

Will it hit the fuel tank?

No. The skid is custom fit to clear the fuel tank.

Is installation difficult?

It is designed for a quick installation process using the included Grade 8 hardware.
