The upper arm sets two of the angles that decide how the truck drives: caster, which affects straight-line stability and steering return, and camber, which affects how the tire meets the ground. With the factory arm those are fixed.

This kit replaces the upper ball joint connection with a 1.25" uniball and mounts the arm to the frame on adjustable 7/8" rod ends, so alignment becomes something you set rather than something you live with. The geometry has also been updated slightly for caster and driving feel.
